Right Haat, the digital platform of The Right Kind (TRK) is a learning and sharing platform where farmers share their aquaculture related problems and seek solutions from experts and other farmers. While that has proved to be extremely helpful for farmers, with each solution being viewed by thousands of farmers within 48 hours, for Right Kind, simply being a knowledgesharing platform did not seem like a sustainable option in the long run.

So when the farmers highlighted the lack of availability of good quality fish fry and fingerlings, Right Kind took on the role of an aggregator to fulfill their demand. Right Kind’s fieldteam collects orders from farmers, especially smallholderfarmers with smaller demand, and aggregates them. These fish fry and fingerlings are then procured in bulk from renowned hatcheries that have worked with WorldFish in the past and then transported in a pickup truck or a microbus closer to farmers’ locations. This is of great advantage to smallholder farmers, who otherwise would have had to order from a nearby mediocre nursery or hatchery and end up with low-quality fish fry and fingerlings.

This initiative from Right Kind is now being highly appreciated by both the farmers and the hatcheries, as it helps them reach more customers.
