Launching Right Haat, a digital platform of The Right Kind

Right Haat, a digital platform of The Right Kind (TRK), specially designed and curated for aquaculture actors including farmers was showcased last month at BRAC Centre Inn, Dhaka in the presence of government and private stakeholders. It is a digital platform that combines both advisory support and a portfolio of products and services for aquaculture farmers and market actors.

Currently, the digital platform has four different service points: a website, Facebook, a hotline number, and a mobile application available in Google Play Store. Through this platform, farmers and small business owners will have easy and direct access to reliable information and best farming practices in visual form from their homes, at their convenience. Stakeholders such as private companies and governments will also be able to reach out to farmers and get instant feedback.

The platform has been supported by two projects managed by WorldFish – Feed the Future Bangladesh Aquaculture and Nutrition Activity (BAA) project, funded by USAID Bangladesh, and Increasing Income, Diversifying Diets and Empowering Women through Aquaculture (IDEA) project, funded by the Gates Foundation.

Till date, Right Haat services have been accessed by more than 50,000 fish farmers in southwest Bangladesh, more than 250 input retailers, and almost 100 LEAF members spread throughout the country. More than 80 government officials attended different programs organized by The Right Kind in the last year, which speaks of the credibility and acceptance of this organization.

Right Haat aims to be a one-stop hub for information on best practices and products available to farmers to ensure better yield.
